Roy Rea, President and CEO

Roy Rea, President and Chief Executive Officer of Netcom Technologies, Inc., has over 27 years of business leadership experience and expertise in the telecommunications industry.   An accomplished corporate marketer and strategist, his vision and performance have driven notable enterprise growth in the cabling, telephony, and security sectors.

 

Mr. Rea’s exceptional track record of business performance is evidenced by the significant impact he has had on business growth throughout his career. Prior to establishing his own companies, he gained experience in several aspects of the industry, ranging from project management, operations, engineering, and finance with major corporations.

 

Offering an extraordinary blend of creative and operational strengths, Mr. Rea began creating a personal impact in the structured cabling business when he founded Communications Services, Inc, near Frederick, Maryland. His inherent skills and concrete focus on business procedures and product knowledge resulted in impressive bottom-line results. Mr. Rea’s capabilities later led him to build a cable plant/product distributor unit in Washington, D.C. for the company who subsequently acquired Communications Services, Inc.

 

Mr. Rea founded Netcom Technologies, Inc. in 1989 and continued to focus on performance excellence. His ardency for the industry is highlighted in his membership with the Industry Advisory Council, as well as, through Netcom Technology’s BICSI Platinum Partner Status.

 

Presently a BICSI certified Registered Communication Distribution Designer and a licensed Master Electrician; he plays a pro-active role in advocating that all Netcom Technology Inc.’s executives obtain the appropriate design and engineering certifications. The consummate CEO, Mr. Rea reviews every significant proposal that originates from Netcom Technologies, Inc.

 

Altruistic concern for human welfare plays a substantial role in Mr. Rea’s life. He exhibits and encourages philanthropy by supporting organizations such as the Fannie Mae Foundation and the Breast Cancer Foundation.
 
  
Tom Cuneo, Senior Vice President, Business Development

Tom Cuneo joined Netcom Technologies, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Business Development in 2007. In his current position, he is breaking new ground in the areas of business development to mentor and expand the company’s sales organization, in an effort to generate new sales opportunities.

 

Offering a combination of business strengths and industry knowledge, he has successfully led the development of several companies. During his 36 years of career experience, Mr. Cuneo has held both Founder and Senior Executive positions with numerous companies, including; C3, Inc. (presently Telos), Federal Technology Corp. (presently MicroDyne), and Government Telecommunications, Inc.

 

Distinguishing himself through excellence in marketing functions and telecommunications, he has been awarded several noteworthy contracts.   He obtained the $43 million United States Postal Service Mail Processing Infrastructure Contract for structured cabling. The United States Department of Agriculture Telephony Support awarded Cuneo a $24 million contract.

 

Mr. Cuneo’s extensive history of proven business performance has also allowed him to receive contracts with GSA CONNECTIONS GWAC, Social Security Administration SONET and Wireless Gigabit, and multiple Social Security Administration telephony support contracts valued at over $47 million.

 

Recognized as an expert in video-teleconferencing, tele-training, and “virtual campus” technology, Mr. Cuneo received the first MIL-STD 1379/D certification for training portability on the MS-Windows Operating System, from International Multimedia Association.

 

He possesses memberships with a multiple of highly respected organizations including; CHAIR: IAC Networks and Telecommunications Shared Interest Group Wireless Committee, Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association, Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association, and the Tau Apha Phi National Honor Society. Mr. Cuneo has served as an Executive Leadership Council attendee since 2001. He has been married for over twenty years and resides in Western Loudoun County with his wife, son and two daughters; one who is a graduate of; one who is  attending Virginia Tech.  Mr. Cuneo is also President of the Loudoun Valley Band Parents Association.
 

Mike Lindquist, Vice President

 

Mike Lindquist, Vice President of Netcom Technologies, Inc. joined the company in 2002. Mr. Lindquist leads the sales department and is responsible for strategic account management. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications sector. These positions include; Technician, Project Manager, Account Manager, Vice President of Operations, Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales. Mr. Lindquist holds numerous certifications for design and engineering structured cabling solutions such as, Systimax, Comscope, Belden, Corning, Ortronics and Berk-Tek.  

   

Prior to joining Netcom, Mr. Lindquist was Vice President of Sales for Business Communications Concepts (BCC). He grew that business from $1M in 1988, to $27M in 1999. Mr. Lindquist sold his ownership percentage of the company to Black Box Corporation in 1999. Mr. Lindquist remained with Black Box for three years under contract, as part of the sale.  

   

Mr. Lindquist designed, sold and managed a $32M national roll-out structured cabling project to the Winstar Corporation. The project encompassed over fifty sites with a 150,000 sq. ft average each were cabled on-time and on-budget. At Mitre Corporation, he was awarded a $9M contract to design and install structured cabling to three 250,000 sq. ft. buildings with approximately 3,500 outlets each. All outlets included a four-port Cat 6 and two–port fiber jack. After the initial MITRE project, Mr. Lindquist has been under contract to design and manage the installation of all of MITRE’s facilities nationwide. Mr. Lindquist was responsible for Dynalectric’s choice to contract with Netcom for the Defense Intelligence Agency headquarters building located on Bolling AFB. This $5.3M project utilized a Corning fiber and Berk-Tek/Ortronics Cat 6 copper solution. Mr Lindquist worked closely with Lt. Commander Moore, and Admiral James Manzelman to redesign this project to accommodate the true wishes of DIA. This was a fast track project that covered nine months. The project was delivered on time and without delay even with an entire redesign by Mr. Lindquist, at no additional cost.  

 

Mr. Lindquist was instrumental in the redesign of the Department of Interior’s (DOI) renovation project. Once again, Mr. Lindquist offered his design services free of charge, and delivered a design to DOI that was far superior in comparison to the original design, and saved the government $1.2 million dollars. Currently he is working on the 4th phase of six, during this ten year project. Mr. Lindquist has extensive knowledge in federal government space and federal government IT contractor facilities. The following are samples of his recent projects; Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) Headquarters, Department of Transportation Headquarters, Federal Courts Headquarters, Communication Sciences Corp (CSC), Apptis, and Lockheed.  

 

Mr. Lindquist has repeatedly demonstrated care and concern for his customer’s interests. His willingness to offer his expertise, free of charge, to his customers in an effort to deliver the best solution is always his priority. Mr. Lindquist meets with structured cabling manufacturers and distributors on a rolling weekly basis. This is one of the keys to his success. Intimate knowledge of available products allows him to overcome most design obstacles. At one of his weekly meetings, Mr. Lindquist was asked to join the Ortronics redesign team, in order to develop the Mighty Mo 6 Communication rack and vertical wire manager system in 1999. This product line revolutionized the way our industry manages cables. The Mighty MO 6 line was the first of its kind, but it still remains the clear leader in cable management. This was a collaborative effort of the nation’s top designers and contractors in conjunction with Ortronics.  

   

Mr. Lindquist is a member of the International Facility Manager Association (IFMA) and the Industry Advisory Council (IAC). Mr. Lindquist is also a member of BICSI, and attends national conferences where he has shared his knowledge as a subject matter expert in the field of Structured Cabling. Mr. Lindquist was Co-Chair of the Steve Buckhantz St. Jude Children’s Golf Classic from 1997- 2001. The tournament raised more than $1M for the hospital during his tenure as Co-Chairman. Mr. Lindquist has been married for 13 years and is the proud father of his 6 year old daughter.  

 

 Jeff Barnhart, Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Barnhart joined Netcom Technologies, Inc., in 2003, as the Chief Financial Officer.   He is responsible for financial operations, including; Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Information Technology Systems, and Facilities.

 

Mr. Barnhart has extensive experience in finance management. Prior to joining Netcom Technologies, Inc., Mr. Barnhart held the positions of Controller, Accounting Manager, and Regional Accounting Manager for the following firms; Concorde Partners, LLC, Warner Construction Consultants, Inc., Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, CB Commercial, and Newslink, Inc.

 

Throughout his twenty year career, Mr. Barnhart has developed a reputation for playing a major role in the migration of paper-based financial accounting systems to server-based computerized systems. He has an impressive history of improving financial operations within the companies he has served. The notable success he has achieved is the result of his expert ability to generate operational cost savings in the product manufacturer cost of goods, as well as, in the costs of facilities management, and insurance premium management.

 

Dedicated to strengthening the balance sheet, and Netcom Technologies, Inc.’s overall financial performance, Mr. Barnhart facilitated the company’s transformation from a small business accounting system, into an optimum standards-based software system. During his years of service with Netcom Technologies, Inc., Mr. Barnhart’s expertise in financial management has resulted in a significant overall increase in revenue for this $14 million company.

 

Mr. Barnhart, an active participant in the community, enjoys the opportunity to use his energies to assist others, by engaging in frequent volunteer work at the Soup Kitchen at the Lord’s Table Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Soup Kitchen provides food and shelter for the economically disadvantaged in the Gaithersburg, MD area.
